St. Timothy National Award

The St. Timothy Award is the highest recognition from the National Federation for Catholic Youth Ministry that a diocese confers on a junior or senior high school youth who lives as a disciple of Christ, sets a positive example for other youth, witnesses to their faith by exhibiting Catholic morals and integrity, demonstrates Gospel values through service to others and exhibits Christian leadership in parish, school and/or community settings. Parish/school leaders can name up to two young people from their parish/ school for this national award.

St. John Bosco Volunteer Award

The St. John Bosco Award is a diocesan award given to adult leaders (21 years and older and cleared for service in the diocese) who have been involved in youth ministry or faith formation as a volunteer for three or more years and have been positive role model for the young people in your parish or school. Please note, this award is not a nomination. When parishes name a recipient, that person receives the award. Only one person (or married couple) may be named each year by a parish or school. Leadership should work together to avoid repeated nominations.

Companions on the Journey National Award

Parishes and schools can nominate adult volunteers, paid staff or clergy (21 years and older and cleared for service in the diocese) for the Companions on the Journey Award, given by the NFCYM through local diocesan offices for service in one of seven categories to an individual who has provided five or more years of outstanding service to youth. Nominations may be made in each category: • ministry in athletics • ministry in catechesis • ministry in Boy Scouts • ministry in Girl Scouts • ministry in justice and service • parish youth ministry • ministry to young adults As each award recipient is recognized, a paragraph will be read aloud. These recipients will be recognized individually.

Nominate a Witness

Deadline: April 1, 2027

Who are the young people and adults in your parish or school who have made a significant contribution to ministry this year? Please note that before nominating, a conversation should be held at the local level and that a principal (in a Catholic School) or a pastor should sign off on the final nominations. This avoids duplicate entries for the same award in a parish or nominations of someone who might not be eligible.

Nominations Open Feb 1
