We have been called to accompany others. What might trauma informed accompaniment look like? What role can we play in helping people navigate back from the impact of trauma? Suppose we intentionally developed a trauma informed parish?

This session offers a basic understanding of trauma and its impact on us, principles and practices which help restore, three characteristics of a trauma aware parish, and a free new parish-based resource.

About the Presenters

After a life in catechetics, Mike Carotta has spent the last 6 years helping several national organizations develop faith-based trauma awareness resources.

Scott Hurd is the Vice President of Leadership Development for Catholic Charities USA, and author of Forgiveness: A Catholic Approach and When Faith Feels Fragile.

Mike and Scott have developed Whole Hearted a free four-session parish based trauma awareness resource from Catholic Charities USA.

Join us for a Zoom gathering with the Little Sisters of the Poor ~ This event is for single Catholic women 17-35 who would like to get a glimpse into the consecrated religious life and see where (and how) the Little Sisters live their prayer life, community life, and apostolic life

Every other week, parish faith formation leaders are invited to a half-hour online meeting to discuss upcoming events, learn more about what others are doing in their parishes, and brainstorm solutions to common problems. Our goal is to pray together, learn from each other, and leave affirmed that we are on the right path in our own parishes and ministry settings.

Meetings are recorded and available online. There is no cost and no advance registration required.

All meetings are on Tuesdays, and all are at 11 am.

St. Pius X in Fairfield will be joining hundreds of parishes across the country in hosting SEEK Where You Are! Open to adults, young adults, and high school students from any parish.  We hope to foster an encounter with the heart of Jesus through the sacraments, small groups, and world-class speakers for our local community. After the event is over, you can continue meeting with your small groups in the spring! This remote experience truly makes you feel united to the universal church. Pray, share meals, listen to amazing talks, and build  community!

Nuestra clase de un día de preparación al matrimonio es un día completo de formación, de diálogo entre la pareja y de reflexión. El contenido presentado en el programa revelado es relevante, estéticamente agradable y sólidamente construido sobre los principios de nuestra fe. Young adults ages 21-39, are you looking to date better? Then sign up for the RAM Series (Relationship Attachment Model) small group study where singles can learn a logical and Biblical sequence for pacing a dating relationship the right way and how to discern a potential partner for marriage! The study will take place in the rectory at St. Cecilia’s on Thursday evenings on the following dates: March 2, March 9, March 16, March 23, March 30, and April 13. Join us on Saturday, March 18 at 8:00AM at St. Bridget of Ireland Church (278 Strawberry Hill Ave) for Mass, a rosary procession carrying roses to Planned Parenthood, and coffee, hot chocolate, donuts, and fellowship immediately following! We hope you can join us to pray for life as we lead up to the State March in Hartford on Wednesday, March 22!
