This formation session is intended to train catechists in The Catechesis of the Good Shepherd (CGS).
CGS is a reflective-based catechetical program for children ages 3-12 that helps a child to further develop his/her relationship with God in a developmentally appropriate way. It is rooted in Sacred Scripture, Sunday worship, and the educational philosophy of Maria Montessori. Learn more about this initiative by clicking here.
Formation for those who facilitate CGS involves nearly ninety hours of online and in-person learning and is open to all catechists and parents. The Institute will offer formation for level one/part one from August 11-16, 2025. Enrollment for this formation is now open. Please use the form at the bottom of this page.

- Time – Monday, August 11- Saturday, August 16
- 9 am to 4 pm every day
- Doors open and hospitality begins at 8:30
- Daily Mass (optional) at 7:30 am
Cost
- Inside Diocese of Bridgeport - $35 payable to CGS
- Outside the Diocese of Bridgeport - $300 payable to Diocese of Bridgeport and $35 payable to CGS
- All food and materials are included.
- Accommodation is not provided.
