Meek

Being “meek” is a virtue that holds great importance for Catholic teenagers. According to the Catechism of the Catholic Church, meekness involves gentleness, humility, and patience, reflecting the heart of Christ. Jesus himself described himself as “gentle and lowly in heart” (Matthew 11:29), embodying the essence of meekness. For Catholic teenagers, practicing meekness can lead to inner peace, stronger relationships, and spiritual growth. It helps them respond to challenges with calmness and self-control, fostering a sense of emotional resilience and compassion.

If we’re honest, like being poor no one really wants to be meek. But maybe this is because we misunderstand meekness. As in all things, let us look to Christ to see this virtue in the light of truth.
