A Boy Called Christmas

In a snowy forest village, young Nikolas lives with his woodcutter father, cherishing memories of his late mother. When the King offers a grand reward to anyone who can bring hope to the kingdom, his father joins a group of hunters on an expedition, leaving Nikolas in the care of a cruel aunt. Soon after, Nikolas discovers a map that might lead to the legendary elvish realm of Elfhelm, and sets out on his own quest to find both his father and the magical place.

With the help of a talking mouse and a reindeer, Nikolas eventually finds the hidden world of Elfhelm. But his joy is short-lived when he learns his father’s expedition has kidnapped a young elf, leading to mistrust between humans and elves. Now Nikolas must race to save both the young elf and his father while mending the divide between the two worlds, ultimately discovering his own destiny as a gift-giver who brings hope to children on Christmas Eve.

A Boy Called Christmas offers a whimsical, albeit secular, reimagining of Santa Claus’s origin story that, while departing from the Christian roots of Christmas, delivers touching messages about hope, belief, and healing from loss. The film is rated PG and is family-friendly.
