Beethoven

Here’s another 90s classic.

The Newton family’s quiet suburban life is turned upside down when they accidentally become the owners of a lost St. Bernard puppy who quickly grows into a massive, mischievous but lovable dog named Beethoven. While the children enjoy their new four-legged family member, their neat and orderly father (Charles Grodin) finds himself increasingly frustrated by the chaos that follows in Beethoven’s wake, from destroyed shoes and furniture to ruined business meetings.

When an evil veterinarian, who has been using pets for cruel animal experiments, schemes to kidnap Beethoven, the father is forced to make a choice between his orderly lifestyle and protecting the dog who has become so important to his family.

While Beethoven focuses mostly on comedy, the film affirms that family is more important than business success. The film is family-friendly, rated PG for mild language and some brief scary moments.
