Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget

This week’s film is a sequel to the 2000 film Chicken Run, but you don’t need to have seen the original to enjoy this new chapter.

Chickens Ginger and her husband Rocky are enjoying life on an island village, raising their new daughter in peace, away from the dangers of the outside world. When Ginger spots colorful trucks transporting chickens on the mainland nearby, she recognizes the danger, and becomes very protective of her young daughter and their idyllic village life.

But her adventurous daughter is intrigued by the flashy trucks, which seem to promise an exciting time at “Fun-Land Farms”, and heads out to experience the real world for the first time. Transported by a truck, the Fun-Land paradise seems to be real at first, with bright green hills filled with slides, rides, and amusements. And yet, something doesn’t seem quite right…

Meanwhile, Ginger, Rocky, and their friends set out to rescue the young chicken, uncovering the sinister truth about Fun-Land Farms, which, as the title implies, has something to do with delicious chicken nuggets.

Appropriate for the whole family, Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget is a light-hearted comedy adventure that celebrates the bonds of family and community, and is rated PG.
