Despicable Me 2

Former super-villain Gru has traded his life of crime for domestic life and fatherhood, trying his best to raise his three adopted daughters. But he’s thrust back into the world of villainy, now working for the good guys, when the Anti-Villain League recruits him to help track down a mysterious villain capable of transforming living creatures into mindless monsters.

Partnered with the overly cheerful secret agent Lucy, Gru goes undercover at a shopping mall where the villain is believed to be hiding. The investigation soon grows complicated as his minions begin disappearing, all while his daughters, keen on adding a maternal figure to their lives, take a mischievous interest in pushing Gru and Lucy together.

Despicable Me 2 celebrates family, especially mothers, in this zany, fast-paced sequel that keeps its focus on what made the original charming: the unlikely but sincere warmth of the villain-turned-father and his new family. Once again, amid the slapstick and animated chaos, Gru learns to open his heart further still. The film is rated PG and is appropriate for the whole family, though it does include some crude humor.
