Karate Kid: Legends

“In life, you only have one question: Is it worth fighting for?”

After a family tragedy, kung fu prodigy Li Fong moves from China to move to New York City with his mother. Struggling to let go of his past and fit in, he befriends a classmate and her father, and discovers they’re being threatened by a ruthless loan shark. Things get worse when Li attracts the attention of a local karate champion who sees him as a rival.

When his former teacher (Jackie Chan) arrives to help, Li decides to enter a citywide martial arts tournament to help his new friends and defend himself. Together they also enlist the help of the legendary Daniel LaRusso, the original Karate Kid. Together, the two masters teach Li to merge kung fu and karate into a single, powerful fighting style. But to succeed, Li must also confront the trauma of his past that’s been holding him back.

Uniting Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio for the first time, Karate Kid: Legends features exciting fight choreography, along with the franchise’s signature underdog story. Like the original, the film focuses on the discipline of martial arts for self-defense and personal growth, encouraging perseverance, courage, and using one’s strengths to help others. Rated PG-13 for martial arts violence and mild language, the film is likely best suited for older kids and teens, especially fans of the original film.
