Miracles from Heaven
Ten-year-old Anna Beam lives a happy life in Texas with her parents and two sisters, regularly participating in church activities with her family. But their world is turned upside down when Anna develops severe stomach pains that leave her unable to eat or digest food normally. After numerous misdiagnoses and frustrating doctor visits, they finally learn she has a rare and incurable digestive disorder.
As Anna’s condition worsens, her mother refuses to accept that nothing can be done for her daughter. Against mounting obstacles and financial strain, she takes Anna to Boston to see one of the few specialists who might be able to help. Through long hospital stays and painful treatments, both mother and daughter struggle to maintain their faith as they watch their family’s normal life slip further away.
But everything changes one day after a freak accident involving an old hollow tree…
Based on an inspiring true story, Miracles from Heaven explores themes of hope, struggling with faith, and how even small acts of kindness can sometimes make a profound difference. While the film deals with serious themes of childhood illness and medical trauma, it handles these subjects sensitively. Rated PG, the movie may be intense for very young viewers, but its message of resilience and the possibility of miracles makes it appropriate for families ready to discuss challenging topics like illness and faith.
