Mr. Peabody and Sherman

Mr. Peabody is a genius dog, and inventor of a time machine called the WABAC (pronounced “way-back”), which he uses to give his adopted human son Sherman genuine historic experiences, where he can learn about ancient cultures and meet influential figures. But when Sherman ignores Mr. Peabody’s warning to keep the time machine a secret and takes a classmate on a short trip to the past, things quickly spiral out of control.

What begins as a mission to save Sherman’s classmate from marrying King Tut ends up becoming a chaotic adventure across time. But as their journey takes them to some of history’s most iconic moments, it also unlocks the characters’ frustrations and doubts, which they’ll have to work through before their history hopping destroys the fabric of space-time…

Though mainly an animated comedy, Mr. Peabody and Sherman may also serve as a light introduction to certain historic time periods. Beneath the humor (and Mr. Peabody’s bad puns), the film also offers a solid story about father and son, both orphaned in their own way, who grow closer to each other amid the time-travel antics. The film is rated PG and is appropriate for the whole family, though it does include occasional crude humor.
