The Magician’s Elephant

Years after a devastating war, people have lost their belief in magic and hope. Young orphan Peter is being raised by a fatherly but war-hardened soldier who insists there’s no room for fairy tales or wild dreams. But Peter can’t shake the feeling that his sister, who supposedly died in the war, is still alive. One day, a mysterious fortune teller tells Peter that to find his sister, he must follow the elephant.

Peter has no clue what elephant she’s talking about until a bumbling magician accidentally conjures an elephant during a performance, causing chaos. Peter knows this must be the elephant he’s meant to follow, but the entertainment-obsessed king says Peter can only have the elephant if he completes three seemingly impossible tasks. As Peter battles the impossible, he discovers that the elephant’s arrival has sparked something in the townspeople, giving them a glimmer of the hope and wonder they thought they’d lost forever.

Based on the book by Kate DiCamillo, this animated fable explores themes of healing from grief and questioning what’s possible, showing how choosing hope changes not just our perspective but our entire experience of the world. The film is rated PG and is family-friendly.
