Two Brothers

In the jungles of 1920s Southeast Asia, two tiger cubs live peacefully among ancient temple ruins until treasure hunters arrive to loot sacred statues. In the chaos, their father is killed and the brothers are separated. One cub is sold to a circus where a cruel ringmaster forces him to perform dangerous tricks. The other is briefly adopted by a French administrator’s young son, but after causing trouble, he’s sent to a prince’s menagerie where he gains a reputation as a fierce beast.

A year later, both tigers are fully grown. The prince stages a festival featuring a fight to the death between the two great beasts, not realizing he’s reuniting the brothers to battle each other.

Two Brothers explores themes of brotherhood, compassion versus cruelty, and humanity’s impact on wildlife. Featuring minimal dialog when the tigers are center stage, the film may be a nice change of pace from many modern films, offering a bittersweet story that will resonate with animal lovers. The film is rated PG and is family-friendly, but features some perilous action and mild violence.
