The Institute for Catholic Formation
In 2015, The Leadership Institute was founded as a mandate of the Fourth Diocesan Synod. Its aim was to serve as the headquarters for formation for all those who serve in ministry in the Diocese of Bridgeport. In time, its role expanded to include marriage formation, catechetical formation, family ministry, and more. In September 2021, Bishop Frank Caggiano announced a rebranding of The Leadership Institute to the Institute for Catholic Formation, a nod to the breadth and depth of its reach, its successful learning platform (LEAD), and its broad vision for a future when all are well-formed in their faith.
About The Institute for Catholic Formation
Through a combination of online learning, face-to-face workshops, and independent study, the Institute offers creative opportunities for ministry personnel to learn more about the Catholic faith and discover new ways to shape the next generation of disciples in Fairfield County.
In addition, the Institute serves as a clearinghouse for resources for those in ministry and a virtual library for anyone who wishes to learn more about the Catholic faith, regardless of the role one might choose to play in spreading the Good News of Jesus Christ.
