About The Document

"We need to participate for the common good. Sometimes we hear: a good Catholic is not interested in politics. This is not true: good Catholics immerse themselves in politics by offering the best of themselves so that the leader can govern." - Pope Francis, 9/16/13

Written by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops, and rooted in Catholic teaching, Forming Consciences for Faithful Citizenship is meant to help guide Catholics in their civic duty of engagement in the political process. Now, more than ever, this document continues to matter in the life of Catholics in the United States.

The entire document can be found here in both English and Spanish.
