Chupa

Still mourning the death of his father, 13-year-old Alex reluctantly travels to Mexico to meet his paternal grandfather and cousins. While the new environment takes some getting used to, the trip becomes much more interesting when Alex befriends a young chupacabra, soon learning that the creature has been separated from his family and is in danger of being captured by unscrupulous scientists hoping to exploit the creature’s mythical healing powers.

Alex and his Mexican family are eager to help the chupacabra (whom Alex names Chupa), but in doing so, Alex realizes he’ll have to come to terms with his father’s passing.

Light-hearted and family-friendly, Chupa celebrates the importance of family, showcasing the virtue of looking out for one another. The film is rated PG, but does include some minor intense action sequences.
