Preaching For Children
Thursday 5/5/22 at 1pm
Lead By: Dr. Ann Garrido
It takes real skill to engage children at Mass without losing the solemnity of why we are gathered. In this workshop, we will explore how to engage children and their parents so that your words might inspire the listener to go forth and make disciples.
Preaching In The Anointing Of The Spirit
Thursday 5/12/2022 at 1pm
Lead By: Dr. Mary Healy
Our overall theme for this homiletics track is the Intersection between Scripture and Homilies, so we would prefer something on preaching itself. The workshop as a whole is to offer ideas for the enhancement and revitalization of homilies for our clergy.
An Encounter with the Risen Lord
Thursday 5/19/22 at 1 pm
Lead By: Fr. Michael Bruno
We will reflect upon our preaching within the context of encountering Christ, who is the “answer" to humanity’s fundamental questions (Evangelii Nuntiandi, #3). We will also discuss particular insights from “Preaching the Mystery of Faith: The Sunday Homily” (USCCB, 2010), and have time for a discussion of challenges and best practices for preaching today.
