Charlotte’s Web
Charlotte’s Web by E.B. White is considered a classic, and has fans of all ages. So what better film to watch with the whole family this week?
Wilbur is the runt of a litter of pigs, raised by a girl named Fern until she sells him to her uncle, a farmer. While Wilbur was safe with Fern, his fate is more questionable at his new home. However, this pig is determined to live. And a friendly spider named Charlotte is determined to save him.
Now, even if you don’t like spiders, you’re bound to be a fan of Charlotte. She is the loving and smart spider who lives in Wilbur’s pen. Using words like “amazing” and “special” Charlotte is able to draw public attention to Wilbur and convince the farmer that he’s worth saving.
This movie is full of charm and small miracles. It instills a sense of hope, provides a lesson on not judging others by their appearances, and creates a conversation about what it means to help others.
