Inside Out
We’re back to Pixar this week as we enjoy a movie about emotions, thoughts, and memories. That’s right, it’s time for Inside Out!
Inside Out tackles the story of Riley, a young girl who moves with her parents from the snowy midwest to San Francisco. This uprise in her life causes Riley a lot of strife and, rather than just seeing all of Riley’s attempts to fit into her new life from the outside, we get to see it from inside Riley’s mind, from her emotions’ perspectives. Joy, Sadness, Disgust, Fear, and Anger are characters in this charming movie and guide us through Riley’s memories, personality, and motives.
While this may sound confusing, Inside Out navigates the struggles of a young girl struggling to be happy beautifully, with finesse and care. It highlights the importance of open discussion regarding feelings. And it’s a lot of fun.
So gather the family and enjoy an emotional roller coaster.
