The Hate U Give
The Hate U Give (based on the young adult novel of the same name by Angie Thomas) tells the story of Starr Carter (Amandla Stenberg), a 16-year-old whose friend dies at the hands of a police officer while Starr is present. The film follows Starr navigating her life after his death, uncovering new truths about her loved ones, and deciding whether she should place herself at potential risk by testifying in court.
