When racehorse trainer Ben Crane (Kurt Russell) is fired after a disastrous race, he decides to keep an injured racehorse, saving the animal from being put down. Although his daughter Cale (Dakota Fanning) grows to love the horse, Ben has trouble finding a new job, is swamped with financial problems, and is worried about his family’s future.

As the horse’s leg finishes healing, both father and daughter are excited to realize that the horse may perhaps race once again. But doing so will require faith and persistence, forcing Ben to let go of his worries and trust in his daughter’s confidence and determination.

Inspired by a true story, this family-friendly drama offers a simple tale of hope and perseverance, and encourages us to not let worldly worries blind us to the things that are truly important.
