Ernest & Celestine

Celestine is a young orphan mouse living underground, where she’s taught to fear the evil bears that live in the world above. One day, while out on an errand, she winds up in the clutches of Ernest, a hungry bear who wants to eat her. Celestine convinces him to break into a candy shop instead, and soon enough the duo find themselves on the run from the law.

Hiding out at Ernest’s place, the mouse and the bear share the winter together as their unlikely friendship grows. Meanwhile, the police from both the bear world and the rodent world continue searching for them, reflecting a brewing societal resentment that Ernest and Celestine will soon have to face.

Charmingly animated, Ernest & Celestine tells a classic story of a forbidden friendship, where characters are reminded that it’s what’s on the inside that really counts. The film is rated PG and is appropriate for the whole family.
