World Youth Day Pilgrimage 2023

July 26 - August 7, 2023 | Lisbon Portugal

In celebration of World Youth Day, the Diocese of Bridgeport will be taking three groups for an 11-Day Pilgrimage to Portugal. For those age 16-39 we are offering a trip to WYD celebrations. Group one is for 16-18 year olds (high school students or recent grads). Group two is for young adults (age 19-35).

For those who wish to accompany the bishop and young people, but not participate in WYD, we are offering a third group for an Adult-only Pilgrimage.

World Youth Day

World Youth Day (WYD) is a worldwide encounter with the Pope celebrated about every three years in a different country. The most recent WYD was celebrated in Panama City, Panamá from January 22-27, 2019 and the next World Youth Day will be held in Lisbon, Portugal in 2023.

WYD is open to all young adults who want to take part in a festive encounter centered on Jesus Christ together with their peers. This event is an opportunity to personally experience the universality of the Catholic Church, and to share with the whole world the hope of many young people who are committing their lives to Christ and His Church. World Youth Day is a unique way to deepen your faith and grow closer to Christ, through prayer and the sacraments, together with hundreds of thousands of other young people who share your interests and ambitions.

Pilgrimage Includes:

Round trip air from New York, first-class hotels, breakfast & dinner daily, air-conditioned motor coach, english-speaking guide, sightseeing as per itinerary, all taxes and service charges, complete World Youth Day program, Daily Mass and Rosary

WYD Pricing:

$3,400 per person
A $700 deposit due at time of registration, with balance due by April 26, 2023.

Scholarship Opportunity:

Scholarships are available for WYD participants. Please submit a letter with your registration outlining your specific needs and the amount of assistance you would require and why. The WYD scholarship committee will review and respond.

Adult Pilgrimage

In addition to addition to the WYD Celebrations, a pilgrimage for those who wish to accompany Bishop Frank J. Caggiano and the young people, but not participate in WYD is being held at the same time.

During the 11 day pilgrimage, we will be visiting Fatima, Aljustrel, Valinhos, Batalha, Nazare, Tomar, Lisbon, Évora, Sintra, Cascais, and the Papal Greeting and Mass with the Holy Father during World Youth Day Celebrations.

Your pilgrimage includes: Round trip air from New York, Four-star First-class hotels, Breakfast & dinner daily, Air-conditioned motor coach, English-speaking guide, Sightseeing opportunities, All taxes and service charges, Daily Mass and Rosary.

$3,599 per person double
Single Supplement $750

$700 deposit due at time of registration, with balance due by May 1, 2023
